How Much Does a Sayulita Wedding Cost? An Honest Breakdown from a Wedding Planner

As a wedding planner, one question comes up more than any other: how much does a wedding cost? Sometimes it is the only question in the first email. And I understand completely. Planning one of the most important days of your life requires financial clarity.

The short answer: a Sayulita wedding is more affordable than you would expect. The long answer: your total depends entirely on your choices, and those choices are yours to make.

After twenty years of planning weddings here, the way I actually break down a budget in a first conversation is simple. There are three components. You add them up. That's your total — no surprises.

To calculate the real total of your wedding: take the venue cost, add the per-person collection, and include the essential services that aren't part of it.

The Three Components of Your Total

1. The place where it all begins The starting point is the location.

There is no single price because we work with different venues at Amor Boutique Hotel in Sayulita, each suited to a different style and budget.

Kissing Garden for ceremonies under the trees. Beach Front Garden for intimate ceremonies where the garden meets the ocean. Villa More Amor up in the treetops. Corazón del Mar on a terrace facing the Pacific. Patio Gran Villa around its century-old fountain. And open spaces for dancing under the Sayulita night sky, with the bay below. We will find the space that fits you.

Villa More Amor charges no venue fee, which makes it a real option for couples planning small, intentional weddings. The venue is the first decision because it shapes every cost that follows.

2. The per-person collection

The bulk of the budget is defined by your guests. Your base cost is the price per person of the collection you choose, multiplied by your guest count.

Our collections are designed to give you a high-quality banquet, furniture, and service with clear rates from day one. You know exactly what is included before you commit.

This is the largest line item in most weddings, and it is where guest count matters most. The difference between fifty guests and a hundred and ten genuinely changes the conversation. Different collections offer different levels of menu, presentation, and service. None of them is "the basic option." They are different shapes of the same wedding.

3. The essential vendors

Beyond the venue and the collection, every wedding needs four services that are not included. Budget for:

  • Florist, to bring the ceremony and the reception to life

  • DJ, to keep the dance floor full

  • Hair and makeup, your styling team for the day

  • Photography, the professional who captures every moment

Each one has its own range depending on the level you choose. Together they typically form the third significant portion of the budget. Every wedding needs them, and where you invest within each category is up to you.

Venue + per-person collection + essential vendors. That is your total. Everything else is refinement around those three numbers.

WHAT MOVES THE NUMBERS

Within that three-part structure, some decisions change the totals more than couples expect.

Your guest count. This is the biggest lever, by far. Every collection scales with the list. A wedding of forty and a wedding of a hundred and ten at the same venue, with the same collection and the same vendors, can end up tens of thousands of dollars apart.

Your date. High season in Sayulita runs roughly October through June, and that is the top of the curve for almost every vendor in town. From July through September, room rates are noticeably lower. If your date is flexible, this is one of the easiest ways to reduce your total without reducing your wedding.

Your level of customization. Two weddings at the same venue, on the same date, with the same guest count can still land far apart depending on the menu you choose, the flowers you imagine, the music you book, the photographer you want. Every decision moves the budget.

The shape of the weekend. A destination wedding is rarely just the wedding day. Welcome dinners, rehearsals, day-after breakfasts, group experiences: these are separate from the wedding itself, and they are where many of the most memorable moments of the weekend live. Some couples include several. Others keep the celebration contained. Both are right.

YOUR WEDDING, YOUR RULES

Every detail is customized. We adjust each element to your priorities (the food you care about, the photography you would never compromise on, the music that means something to you) so you get exactly what you have imagined, within an investment you are comfortable with.

I would rather plan one wedding that fits a couple perfectly than ten weddings that look the same. That principle shapes the budget conversation more than any single line item.

HOW TO THINK ABOUT YOUR BUDGET

If you are at the stage of figuring out whether Sayulita is within reach:

Start with your realistic guest count. Not aspirational, not minimum. The number of people actually likely to show up.

Pick your two or three non-negotiables. Spending more on those and less elsewhere usually creates a more satisfying wedding than spreading the budget evenly.

Decide the scale of the weekend. Just the wedding day, or a fuller program of welcome and farewell events?

Bring up the budget early. I would rather know what we are working with in the first conversation than after designing something outside it.

WHY THIS POST DOES NOT LIST PRICES

You may have noticed I have not given you a single figure. That is intentional.

Numbers without context (without your guest count, your date, your venue, your priorities) mislead. I have watched couples make decisions based on averages they found online and then meet a completely different reality when their actual wedding was priced. I would rather not add to that.

When you reach out, I share real numbers: the collections, the venue rates, the typical ranges for each essential vendor. I show you the actual line items in the context of your actual wedding. That conversation takes thirty minutes and replaces a hundred searches that will not tell you what you need to know.

The honest answer to "how much does a Sayulita wedding cost" is a conversation, and I am here when you are ready to have it.
