Karen Ruezga is a dedicated wife and mother of two. She was born in Guadalajara, moved to Sayulita in 2004, and has never wanted to work anywhere else — not because she hasn't had the chance, but because she understood early that mastery comes from depth, not range.

She started planning weddings for a resort. In 2006, she founded Playa Secreta and made it her own. Today, Playa Secreta is part of a family of three brands — Amor Boutique Hotel, Local Tribe, and Playa Secreta Weddings — all operating together in Sayulita, all under Karen's direction. When you book with us, you're not working with a third-party coordinator. You're working with the person who knows these venues from the inside out, because she helped build what they are.

She has planned over 90 events a year for two decades. She knows which light falls where at 5pm in November. She knows which vendor answers at midnight and which flower holds in Pacific humidity. She knows things that can't be learned in a course — only in years of showing up.

Karen holds a degree in Tourism from the Universidad de Guadalajara, and certifications as a Meeting Specialist and Events Production professional. But the couples who work with her don't remember the credentials. They remember that everything went exactly as they imagined — and better.
